The Junior Excellence program was established in 2007 to recognise, reward and incentivise junior swimmers. Each year, Swimming Australia releases the JX criteria and standards for the forthcoming season. Swimmers aged 9 to 13, who accomplish times set by Swimming Australia, qualify at gold, silver, bronze or blue standard, depending on their best performances during the season. We had a big contingent achieving the requisite time standards this year. Congratulations to the following swimmers: Chloe Aspros, William Creati, Brianna Donato, Portia D'Ovidio, Youssef Elgammal, Ahmed Elgammal, Isabel Hauge, Alice Hay, Chloe King, James McFarlane, Luke Panknin, Daniel Panknin, Rosemary Pauesi, Harry Silke, Wilson Staples, Jake Sweerts, Mia Toussas. Three swimmers achieved the Gold standard: James Hay, Noah O'Donnell and Johann Stickland.
In addition to JX, we had one swimmer achieve JX Legend status. JX Legend status is only awarded to swimmers who have qualified for the JX program at Gold standard for 5 years, or to 15 and 16 year olds that have competed at the Australian Age Championships. This year, Johann Stickland achieved this standard.
Congratulations to all our JXers!
