Story by Will M
From the 26th till the 29th of September, a handful of Propulsion swimmers flew over to Perth to compete in the 2022 Uni Nationals Championships. The majority of the propulsion swimmers were competing for the University of Melbourne with Adam Selwood, Will Middleton, Dominique Hart, Ruby Knott and new recruits Imara-bella Thorpe and Ava Simpson making up the majority of the team. Lachlan Jackett-Simpson was also present competing under Monash University. Our swimmers swam incredibly well amongst some tough competition, bringing back a huge haul of medals.
Thanks to the efforts of Lachie, Monash University managed to place 3rd and on the back of some good swims from their smallest team ever the University of Melbourne had their best result in recent history placing fifth. Some notable swims include Adam Selwood’s 200m Breastroke where he took out gold and the women’s 4x50m Freestyle relay where the University of Melbourne team, comprised entirely of Propulsion swimmers, managed to claim silver.
Overall it was a great meet coming off the back of short course nationals and shows positive signs for what’s ahead!
