After a fantastic, fun fortnight of quality competition, the Metro West District Championships concluded on Sunday 5 June.
WMP placed second overall, with some impressive racing from our boys netting us top spot in the Male Team Score. The coaching team was extremely pleased with the standard of swimming on display, with technical and skill improvements across the board, countless PBs being swum, as well as multiple State Times and several National Open times.
We had 4 swimmers set district records - Josh Seignior, Adam Selwood, Robbe Dilissen, and James McBride - the latter collecting 5 records from his 9 swims, including a National Open time in the 400IM that would have ranked him 12th in Australia at the Comm Games Trials.
At the Junior level, Chiara Hutchinson, Jack Morrow, Noah O'Donnell and James Morrow were named Age Group Champions, with James McBride named 18/Over champion.
The atmosphere, team spirit and camaraderie shown across both weekends was terrific, and the peer support and inclusivity demonstrated by the whole WMP team was unrivaled at the meet. A big thank you to our parent volunteers for their efforts in time-keeping and restocking the snack table, and congratulations to all those who competed.
